Our choice of location was the inspirational Paddington Reservoir in Sydney, a fantastic mix of urban and natural (and never before used for a formal event) from which we kicked off the show with a champagne reception featuring Piper Heidsieck ice bars and a Swarovski chandelier. Influential guests for the evening included Rachel Zoe, Zoe Kravitz, Natalie Imbruglia, Sam Burgess, Anthony Minichiello and Terry Biviano, designers Dan Single, Toni Maticevski, Kym Ellery and Luke Sales, fashion bloggers Margaret Zhang, Zanita Whittington and Kate Waterhouse and familiar faces such as Zac & Jordan Stenmark, Bambi and Kate Peck. (A special mention here to Max Media Lab who ran the PR and guest list).

Rather than your traditional seated, lengthy awards presentation, we opted to present the ELLE Style Awards via video content, presented on a custom Samsung screen installation in the centre of the main Reservoir space. Guests dined via grazing tables, and were kept entertained by DJ sets from The Faders and The Backhanderz.

To provide some fun interaction for guests and take the ubiquitous selfie to the next level, we created the Pro Selfie Party Studio for iconic crystal brand Swarovski.

Fashionistas got access to a dress-up kit of Swarovski pieces, and received a mini-movie of candid stop-motion images to commemorate the evening. Even A-List stylist Rachel Zoe and Jean Paul Gaultier got in on the act!

This being a fashion event (dahling!), we also created a touch-up booth for TOPSHOP and TOPMAN where guests could make sure they remained looking fabulous throughout the night.

Sponsor activations were also created for naming rights sponsor Citroen and Patron Tequila who had a presence on the red carpet and throughout the event.

To support ABSOLUT ELYX, the official spirit of the awards, we built a custom Chesterfield-clad bar which served an array of bespoke cocktails in ABSOLUT’s patented copper pineapple.

For Petaluma, the official wine of the awards, we also designed and built a premium bar, complete with bespoke signage and florals.

All in all, a stylish, successful and unusual event which we were thrilled to have worked on.

The highlight of the awards presentation was the Icon Award, aptly presented to Jean Paul Gaultier who delighted guests with his enthusiasm for Australia, his generosity in posing for personal photos, and his infectious personality. Jean Paul, nous vous adorons!!
